The Hogsback Inn
The Hogsback Inn sits on the Lower Hogsback where the village starts to thin into fields — close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants, far enough that the garden runs quiet at night. It is the village’s all-rounder: hotel rooms if you want servicing, self-catering cottages if you want a kitchen, and a campsite if you’re towing or tenting — budget rooms have been part of the mix in the past, so phone to ask. Few places in Hogsback cover that range, and fewer still keep a tavern on the property for the evening.
What’s on offer
The spread is wider than the name suggests. As at the August 2026 vetting, LekkeSlaap’s listing breaks it down as 7 standard rooms, 6 suites, 4 backpacker rooms and 3 self-catering cottages, with camping on the grounds as well — roughly 60 beds across the property on the community directory’s count.
No pets, per the Booking.com house rules (“Pets are not allowed”) — the village sheet’s pet flag is the outlier here, and the listing’s own rules win. If your dog situation is exceptional, phone the Inn before assuming anything.
The Hogshead Tavern
Downstairs, the Hogshead Tavern does pub meals and drinks — phone for today’s hours (evergreen policy — no fixed hours on pages). For hotel guests it means you don’t have to drive anywhere for dinner; for everyone else it’s one of the village’s dependable evening stops. (We keep a separate guide to eating out in Hogsback — hours there are checked against the same village sheet.)

Who it suits
Families who want a pool-and-lawn base camp, groups mixing room types on one property, and anyone attending a wedding or event in the village who wants everything in one place. If you’d rather have a quiet cottage in the forest, compare the self-catering options instead.
