Hogrock Falls

Hogrock Falls is what happens when an artist, a hobbit and a gardener build cottages in the same forest. Three named cottages on 42 Main Road — sleeping twelve in total — each with a pathway leading down to private waterfalls and wild forest walks, and curved decks that seem to float above the tree canopy. Run by Leigh and Kerry, who also run the Waterfall Cathedral wedding venue up the road.

The three cottages

  • Silver Birch — sleeps 4 (double + king), open-plan loft-style living, decorated with original paintings by the artist who designed the cottage, a restored Victorian bath looking into the trees, and a wood-burning fireplace.
  • Copper Aloe — sleeps 2–4 (queen + single day bed), a hobbit-like cottage with a watering-can shower and a farm-style kitchenette overlooking the forest.
  • Hobbit Hollow — the magic one: a cabin with a genuine living roof, double bed on the mezzanine, an “underground” room for the adventurous, forest views from every window, and its own private waterfall a short path away.

The cottages sit close enough for a big group to flow between them — twelve beds under one booking — but far enough apart that a couple never hears it. Down duvets, fireplaces, portable braais (not on the wooden decks — house rule).
