Diamond Vault Rustic Mountain Cabins
Diamond Vault is the rustic option, honestly stated: self-contained mountain cabins with kitchenettes, balconies and big views on the upper slopes — and the most mixed review scores in the village’s reviewed set, 7.0 from 65 Booking.com reviews at the October 2026 check. The staff score (8.3) and the host’s own record run well above the overall, which usually means a property in transition rather than a bad stay — read the recent reviews and decide.
The cabins
Two self-contained cabin types, both with kitchenette (fridge, microwave, kettle), private bathroom with walk-in shower, private entrance, and a balcony or patio facing the mountains and garden:
- Double Room with Mountain View — a double bed plus two sofa beds, sleeping up to four.
- Double Room with Balcony — a double bed plus a sofa bed, sleeping up to three.
Location
17 Booysens Crescent, upper Hogsback, at about 1,300 m — the cabin-end of the village, well away from the main road. Own transport required.
Pets
Pets by arrangement — allowed on request per the house rules (charges may apply). On the pet-friendly stays page under by-arrangement; mention the dog when booking.
Booking and contact
- Booked through Booking.com — note the listing asks for prepayment by bank transfer before arrival, and check-in runs 14:00–17:00, so plan the arrival drive accordingly.
- Host: Morne Bothma.
Who it suits
Travellers who want rustic, quiet and mountain views at the friendly end of the price range, and who read reviews rather than following them. Compare the wider accommodation range if the scores worry you.
